Outdoor wedding

Couples who dream of a magical wedding under the stars or seaside should consider an outdoor wedding. Outdoor weddings are unique. Although these weddings tend to be less formal than traditional weddings, they offer a timeless and romantic feel. Of course, outdoor weddings are slightly different from indoor weddings. When a couple plans an outdoor wedding there are several additional factors that need to be considered. Most couples want an outdoor wedding and reception because they afford terrific photo opportunities. However, couples should not overlook other details such as planning for rain, noise, mosquitoes, and light. If possible, couples should have an outdoor wedding checklist.

When planning an outdoor wedding, the two most important details are selecting a date and a location. Both of these details should be handled early. In some cities, securing a venue to host an outdoor wedding is challenging. Perfect sites for outdoor nuptials include parks, beaches, and gardens. Outdoor weddings are best when held late spring or early summer. Scheduling an outdoor wedding in the middle of July may not be the best choice considering that the temperature may soar pass 90 degrees. Additionally, early springtime poses rain threats. Those who are planning outdoor nuptials must have a backup plan. This may include a rain date, erecting huge tents, or booking with an outdoor facility that also host indoor events.

Adequate lighting is an important detail for nighttime outdoor weddings. If the facility has limited lighting, couples should purchase decorative lanterns, white Christmas lights, and table candles. These will perfectly illuminate the reception area and provide a soft, romantic ambiance. Moreover, couple should select lights that are designed to deter bugs such as mosquitoes and flies. Lastly, those planning an outdoor wedding should try and select a secluded location away from highways, sports field, or any other noisy place.
